Mitchell Plastics.

Mitchell Plastics designs and manufactures precision components for automotive interiors. The company has a global footprint, with headquarters in Kitchener; manufacturing facilities in Canada, the US, and Mexico; and satellite offices in Europe and Asia. As a result of significant investment and a commitment to innovation, Mitchell had experienced impressive growth and business success - but their website hadn’t kept pace. It was our task to build a new site from the ground up, with original content that truly showcased their capabilities and brought their brand and their culture to life.

Above all, Mitchell wanted its new website to be dynamic. To meet this ask, we took the time to understand their business, their priorities, and their brand. With this foundation in place, we set about capturing the high-quality video and photography assets that are absolutely essential to the creation of a convincing web experience.

The site’s landing page is essentially an interpretation of Mitchell’s positioning line - Innovation Inside. It uses a collage of video to bring the user inside Mitchell on many different levels: down to the factory floor to show technology at work; inside the Design and Engineering departments where the innovation begins; and into the vehicle interiors with Mitchell’s products in situ, where drivers interact with them. The authenticity of this approach means that customers, suppliers, and prospective employees have a meaningful introduction to Mitchell as a business and a workplace.

Mitchell’s site is fully translated into several different languages, switchable via a convenient menu in the upper nav.

A well-executed website evokes an emotional response in many ways: through the elegance of its architecture, the tone of the copy, and the curation of colour, imagery, and typography. The introductory Mitchell brand “stinger,” accessed on the site’s landing page, combines bespoke photography, animations, renderings, and music to convey the essence of the organization’s capabilities and ethos in a way that engages and resonates.

In the interior pages of the site, we used parallax, animation, and other effects to create a sense of dynamic flow for the user. Mitchell is an engineering and manufacturing business, but its culture is people-oriented. That’s why every section of the site, and particularly the Culture section, shows Mitchell’s employees in action.

Mitchell’s advanced design and engineering capabilities differentiate them from many of their competitors. The new website supports the recruitment of talented individuals, first by promoting Mitchell’s culture and values, and second via custom functionality that allows HR admins to post career opportunities and track applications.

Immersive full-frame video and imagery give the site its distinctive and sophisticated look and feel.
